Novel transgenic/chemogenetic models of oxidative stress in the cardiovascular system

Dr. Michel’s seminar will discuss the development and application of chemogenetic approaches to dynamically modulate tissue-specific oxidative stress.  These studies have yielded new models of heart failure, neurodegeneration, and aortic aneurysm formation caused by oxidative stress. Chemogenetic approaches are providing new insights into the molecular and cellular mechanisms whereby cellular oxidants modulate both physiological and pathophysiological responses in cardiovascular cells and tissues
