Extracellular vesicle-mediated communication in cardiovascular disease

Extracellular vesicles (EVs) are produced by cells in the cardiovascular system, and they can be taken up by recipient cells to alter function. The contents and functions of EVs change during disease, and they therefore hold significant promise as biomarkers and therapeutic targets. In this seminar, I will present our recent work assessing the role of EV-mediated communication in the brain and heart in the setting of diabetes as well as cancer therapy.
