The microscopes are an Olympus FVX upright confocal (2 laser; e.g., Alexa 488 and Alexa 594) and an Olmypus FVX inverted confocal (3 laser; e.g., DAPI, Alexa 488 and Alexa594).
Those interested in use of the confocal microscopes should first e-mail Angie Best (akb9c@virginia.edu, 4-2093) to organize a training session.
Following training, the FV1000 is available Fridays by appointment between the hours of 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM, in two (2) hour blocks, or by special arrangment. The FVX is available Monday-Friday depending on the user and amount of time required.
