About Us
The CVRC Histology Core is a resource within the CVRC at the University of Virginia School of Medicine. We provide routine and specialized histology services based on the principal investigators’ needs. We support groups within the CVRC, and other affiliated laboratories or groups on a priority basis.
We are available to help if you are:
- Working with mouse tissue that requires processing and embedding in paraffin wax
- Requiring tissue sections that have been embedded in paraffin wax or OCT
- Requiring staining for basic tissue morphology or specific structures as they relate to cardiovascular disease research
- Wanting training on certain histology instruments i.e., cryostat or microtome or consultation on specific staining protocol
