Research Description


As one of the founding members of GlimMR Medical Device Innovations , he has focused on medical device development , particular to tools for cardiac catheterization , electrophysiology , and cardiac assist devices. He has partnered with biomedical engineering teams in developing a novel pediatric ventricular assist device , and has received multiple grants supporting this research.
He has become a nationally recognized investigator for percutaneous device therapy of mitral valve disease.
In concert with colleagues at Johns Hopkins , Duke University , and Vanderbilt University , He has pioneered the development of the MAGIC registry for congenital cardiac interventions.

Dr. Lim is medical director of the UVA Advanced Cardiac Valve Center and is noted internationally for his expertise in novel percutaneous approaches to heart valve disease.

Personal Statement

Dr. Lim is medical director of the UVA Advanced Cardiac Valve Center and is noted internationally for his expertise in novel percutaneous approaches to heart valve disease. He specializes in children and adults with congenital heart disease. Dr. Lim is also the co-director of the Adult Congenital Heart Disease Center at UVA. He created and continues to run the humanitarian charity endeavor between UVA and Cedimat hospital in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, for care and education on rheumatic heart disease.
