Discovery of heart-derived myokines that shape responses to cardio-metabolic stress in the heart
This seminar will highlight how molecular metabolism and proteomics reveal new pathways in heart–metabolic tissue communication. Dr. Khetarpal will discuss recent work linking the transcriptional coactivator PGC-1α to exercise adaptations in the heart through regulation of secreted proteins, as well as proteomic discovery of new cardiac factors that influence metabolic physiology under stress.
