Mechanisms of Endothelial Cell Fate Determination – Applications to Cardiac Tissue Regeneration
Endothelial cell specification into arterial and venous phenotypes is critical for the development of a circulatory network, and requires coordination between extrinsic and intrinsic signaling. These maturation events occur in conjunction with suppression of endothelial cell cycle progression, and endothelial cell hyperproliferation is associated with arterial-venous malformations. This talk will focus on the mechanistic role that cell cycle state plays in arterial-venous specification during development, and potential applications towards cardiac tissue regeneration.
