Research Interests

Advanced cardiovascular imaging

Research Description

Advanced cardiovascular imaging including SPECT and PET, myocardial perfusion imaging and cardiac MRI for the identification and management of ischemic heart disease.

Personal Statement

I am primarily interested in the application of advanced cardiovascular imaging techniques to improve the management of ischemic heart disease. My current research focuses are the comparative effectiveness of stress cardiac MRI and SPECT myocardial perfusion imaging for the diagnosis of ischemic heart disease in symptomatic diabetics and the use of cardiac MRI to improve prognosis in the setting of an acute myocardial infarction. I hope to begin an active cardiac PET research program as we incorporate this modality into our clinical experience.
