About Us
Transforming Omics Into Outcomes
The CVRC Bioinformatics Core is an integrated computational resource within the Cardiovascular Research Center (CVRC) at the University of Virginia School of Medicine. We are dedicated to supporting high-throughput biomedical research through expert bioinformatics analysis, collaboration, and consultation.
As a research-enabling core facility, we work closely with both basic science and clinical investigators to help translate complex omics datasets into clear, reproducible, and biologically meaningful insights. Our mission is to accelerate scientific discovery by delivering high-quality computational analysis, tailored data interpretation, and hands-on support for bioinformatics workflows.
Who We Serve
We serve as the central computational hub for the CVRC, providing cutting-edge bioinformatics support to CVRC investigators, affiliated departmental labs, and other research groups across the University of Virginia on a priority basis.
- Launching a new study involving sequencing or proteomics
- Working with single-cell or spatial omics technologies
- Or integrating large-scale multi-omics datasets across conditions and time points
We’re here to help.
We support researchers at all levels of computational experience, from trainees exploring omics for the first time to senior investigators requiring advanced analytics or collaborative publications.
