Age-related clonal hematopoiesis: A Novel Driver of Hypertension?

The rising prevalence of hypertension with age poses a major public health challenge due to its role as a critical risk factor for cardiovascular disease. Parallel to this trend, older individuals frequently exhibit age-related clonal hematopoiesis (ARCH), characterized by hematopoietic clones driven by somatic mutations (e.g., in Tet2) expanding in the absence of frank hematologic malignancy. This presentation will explore the compelling interplay between ARCH and blood pressure regulation, delving into the mechanistic pathways that potentially link these two significant age-related conditions
