Please consider nominating your best student/postdoc for the Robert M. Berne Outstanding Trainee Award. We have a separate award for postdocs and graduate students.
Details:
Application may be made by the trainee or by the trainees advisor on behalf of the trainee. The Robert M. Berne CVRC's Scientific Advisory Committee will review the scientific productivity of the student and the scientific merit of the nominee's paper. The winner will be given a $500 merit stipend supplement, an award certificate, and his or her name will be placed on an award plaque to be displayed in the CVRC Administration Office in MR-5. The winner of this award will be asked to present the paper at a CVRC Research in Progress Seminar.
Nominations should include:
- A letter of nomination by the CVRC Faculty Member or designated representative. The letter should describe the importance of the work, the relevance to cardiovascular function or disease, and the contribution made by the student or postdoc to the work.
- the student's/postdoc's curriculum vitae.
- 3-5 letters of recommendation (one must be from the students mentor).
- a reprint or preprint of the paper or manuscript.
Thank you for your continued support of this award program. Our graduate students and postdocs are great, and they should be recognized.
