AstraZeneca Alliance Funding - We are delighted to announce a research alliance between AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (AZ) and The University of Virginia (UVA) in the area of cardiovascular disease, with the goal of identifying and validating novel therapeutic targets, treatment methods, and diagnostic methods. The Partners Award supports programs making contributions to our basic understanding of cardiovascular function and pathophysiology. Special emphasis is placed on the funding of young investigators or investigators who propose new initiatives to redirect their research into promising areas. The Heart Center Partner's Fund will award up to four grants in aid of up to $25,000 each year. This is a one year, nonrenewable grant intended to support the generation of preliminary data for NIH R01 applications. More Information
