The Robert M. Berne Cardiovascular Research Center Holds the 2011 Toy Lift for Charity!

On Wednesday November 30th, 2011 the Robert M. Berne Cardiovascular Research Center took part in the Charlottesville Toy Lift 2011.

The Toy Lift is run by Kids Lift Foundation in Charlottesville, which aims to bring a Merry Christmas to underprivileged children by gathering donations of toys. The Toy Lift started in 1998 and has raised over 17,000 toys to bring joy to children during this special time of year.

The CVRC staff, joined by the Department of Biomedical Engineering, held a celebratory lunch where they played Secret Santa by drawing names out of a hat. The concept was to buy a gift that you would imagine that person would want as a child, wrap it so that they could open it at the party, and then then donate all the gifts. As you can see by the pictures below, we were able to donate quite the large number of toys and games and gifts for the children!
