CVRC Histological Services
MR5 Room 1238The Robert M. Berne Cardiovascular Research Center (CVRC) at the University of Virginia supports interdisciplinary research in basic, translational, and clinical cardiovascular sciences, including cardiovascular development, function, pathophysiology, pharmacology, genetics, genomics and proteomics.
The goal of the CVRC Histology Facility is to provide high quality histological services and expertise in a cost-effective, value-added manner to CVRC investigators. The services that the CVRC Histology core provide, span a range of capabilities directed at correlative studies in basic, preclinical, and clinical investigations.
The CVRC Histology Facility provides routine and specialized histology services and is open to all CVRC members. The fees are for time of Lab Manager and minimal supply/equipment recovery. Each PI or Lab will need to provide a general PTAEO for the CVRC to schedule labor against and labor will be charged based on monthly usage of Core staff. Priorities of services available are based on a first come first serve basis for the most part, with priority given to grant funding deadlines. You will be bumped, if a grant deadline is pending that requires our services. This will be discussed with you, so that you are aware of the impact to your studies.
